This limits the availability of many tools for student use. That’s why I’m especially excited about the tool I’m discussing today—no student login required!

- Create a free teacher account at https://schoolai.com/
- Select a pre-created AI or create a sidekick of your own
- Once complete you will share the QR code or link with student (No student account!)
- During the activity you can see student responses in realtime
- AI generated summaries are generated during and after the activity to identify interests, needs, and so much more

In the example below I used the Technology Tutor: Theo. You can add in additional qualifiers to customize the tutor for your students and your needs. You can add in audience description such as grade level and any specific instructions to customize the specific topic you want students to delve into further or get aid with.
Launching the Chatbot
- After you select or create an AI experience, you will have your students join it.
- School AI will give you a link that you can give to your students to click on.
- School AI will also generate a QR Code that can simply be scanned to join.
- When the students join they will type in their name so you know who they are
- Note: You could use aliases to hide PII
- Students do not create accounts or even login to SchoolAI.
Student View
- Once students put in their name they can begin the chat experience with the AI
- Students type in responses or use the microphone to speak to the AI
- The AI will respond in text
- Students can also use the Speak link to have the responses spoken aloud
Teacher Insights
- The teacher can monitor students’ progress while they interact with the AI.
- Clicking on any student allows the teacher to read their full conversation.
- The AI provides summaries of highlights and insights from the students’ interactions.
- When the session ends, the AI generates a final summary of insights for the entire class.
Teacher Tools & Assistants
While the main component of Schoolai are the chatbots they do have a small but mighty collection of teacher tools and assistants for teachers. If you go to that link/tab at the top you will see a plethora of tools including lesson planners, rubric creators, joke generators, text levelers, IEP Goal Creators, BIP creators, and course outlines to name a few. Under Assistants you will find a Co-teacher, Essay grading assistant, PBL expert, and Field Trip coordinator. There are so many more and additional tools and assistants are added all the time.
